Hygiene with your dressing gown- How important it is

by Charles Carter on

As much as dressing gown, bathrobes and towels last a long time and can come in all sorts of gorgeous colors and designs. It is important to know how to look after your bathrobe the correct way.

Towels and bathrobes are not always as fresh and clean as you might think. If handled improperly, it can become a breeding ground for bacteria, germs and fungi.

Don't panic. Most of these towel germs come from your own body and are not considered harmful to your health. But microbes exist and they multiply very quickly. Therefore, the question arises:

How many times can you safely use your towel before it goes to the washing machine?

The towel should be used around 3 times before put in the wash. After each use, the towel should be left to dry completely.

Although you can't see it, bath towels can be very dirty. What is already there after the first use can be seen only under a microscope, but no less disgusting: bacteria, fungi, scales, salivary secretions, urinary secretions. In addition, there are many other germs that float around and attach onto your towel or bathrobe.

These microorganisms on the bath towel can quickly land on our skin. Most of the microbes in our household are not a direct threat to health. However, bacteria can multiply extremely fast, especially in a humid and warm environment, and thus increase the risk of infection.

It is important to educate ourselves on how to look after ourselves on personal hygiene.
